What counts as income

Salary (Netto × 14 ÷ 12), FOP income, partner's income, Familienbeihilfe, Kinderabsetzbetrag, Kinderbetreuungsgeld, pension, savings (÷ 12).

Sozialhilfe, Grundversorgung, Wohnbeihilfe, Ausgleichszulage, cash gifts from third parties.

The window is open until 4 March 2027Vertriebene status has been extended automatically until 4 March 2027. Apply for the RWR+ while it is still valid — a separate Aufenthaltstitel will no longer depend on temporary protection.

Your key to stability

This is not just a residence permit but a full status that changes your position in Austria for good.

Freedom on the labour market

Work in any field. Change employer. Start your own business (Gewerbe). No additional AMS permits.

Protection for your family

Apply together with your partner and children. One application — stability for everyone.

The path to permanent residence

RWR+ → Modul 1 (A2) → Modul 2 (B1) → Daueraufenthalt EU after 5 years. A clear, understandable route.

Legal independence

Your status no longer depends on temporary protection. You receive a separate, self-standing Aufenthaltstitel.

Only four requirements. Not forty.

If you have been working in Austria for at least a year, you most likely already meet the criteria.

Ausweis für Vertriebene

You hold a valid "blue card" — the permit for displaced people from Ukraine. The status has been extended automatically until 4 March 2027.

Frequently asked questions

No, you need at least 12 months of full social insurance within the last 24 months. But the months do not have to be consecutive — they add up. If you are 2 months short, wait and apply later. Your Ausweis für Vertriebene is valid until 4 March 2027.

For the application: an A1-level certificate from ÖIF, ÖSD, Goethe or Telc, no older than 1 year. A Ukrainian higher-education diploma can replace the A1 certificate. Note: for Modul 1 (extending the card) only the ÖIF Integrationsprüfung A2 is accepted.

Yes. Familienbeihilfe and Kinderabsetzbetrag (€ 70,90 per child) are added to your net income — for families with children this is often exactly what tips the calculation in the applicant's favour.

The magistrate's administrative fee is around € 218 per person (submission, biometrics, issuing the card). Wenexus support services are separate: from the free checklist to full guidance at € 500 + VAT.

Yes, your partner's and children's applications are submitted together with yours. The income is then calculated for the whole family: the Richtsatz for a couple plus a supplement per child. Use the calculator above to see your family threshold.

It is the official right-of-residence agreement (form BMI V20250625). You need it if you live with someone without a rental contract of your own, or if you share the costs. The magistrate does not accept a simple Prekariumvertrag. You can download the ready template free of charge in the "How we help" section.

It depends on the MA 35 workload and how complete your document package is — in practice from a few weeks to several months. A complete, correctly prepared package is the main way to avoid follow-up requests and lost time.

Your Ausweis für Vertriebene stays valid until 4 March 2027 — you do not lose your current status. The reason for the rejection can be resolved and the application resubmitted. We analyse the risks in advance — which is exactly why we recommend checking your income and documents before you submit.
