REQUIREMENTS
Just 4 requirements. Not 40!
If you have been working in Austria for at least a year, you most likely already meet the criteria.
Ausweis für Vertriebene
You hold a valid „blue card" — the residence document for displaced persons from Ukraine. The status has been automatically extended until 4 March 2027.
12 months of work within 2 years
At least 12 months of full social-insurance coverage (ÖGK or SVS) within the past 24 months. The months do NOT need to be consecutive — they accumulate. Income above the marginal-earnings threshold (€ 551.10/month).
German A1
Basic A1 level. ÖIF, ÖSD, Goethe or Telc certificates are accepted (no older than 1 year) — or a Ukrainian higher-education diploma, which replaces the A1 certificate. If you have lived in Austria for 2+ years, you most likely already hold one of these documents.
Sufficient income
Your net income (Netto) must cover the cost of living + rent. For a single person — from € 1,308.39/month (2026). Familienbeihilfe and Kinderabsetzbetrag are counted!

Official template of the right-of-residence agreement (BMI form V20250625). Required if you live with someone without your own rental contract or share the rent. A Prekariumvertrag is NOT accepted!

Ready-made income certificate (Einkommensnachweis) for 2025 and 2026 for MA 35. Calculation per § 293 ASVG. For employees and self-employed.
Magistrat form
